This limited edition 1995 vintage Lagavulin was bottled for the 2013 Islay Jazz Festival, this is bottle number 95 of only 1, 500 produced. The liquid was lain to rest in Sherry Butt casks, before being bottled at a natural cask strength of 51.9%. Nose: Smooth, with strong notes of medicinal peat. Something sweeter is also present, the sherry & citrus fruits. Slight hint of grassl&. Palate: Mouth-coating & surprisingly sweet, the signature peat smoke is ever present with a kick of spice, black pepper & nutmeg. Finish: Long, the peat smoke lingers like the last burning embers of a campfire.
