Chivas Brothers created a special cask strength range. It's uniquely available at the distillery visitor centre & bottled at cask strength to give the enthusiast something different from the core range expression that Chivas Brothers offer. A brilliant 12 year old offering from Littlemill, bottled at 40% ABv. Located in Bowling, north-west of Glasgow, Littlemill was officially founded in 1772, its water source a spring in the Kirkpatrick Hills. Littlemill can make a strong bid for being one of the oldest distilleries in Scotl&. There was previously a brewery on the site dating back to the 14th century & so it is likely that distillation took place in early times. Like many Lowland distilleries, Littlemill was triple-distilled until the 1930s, when it switched to the present double-distilled product. The distillery has had a chequered past & was closed for some many years during the 1980s before re-opening under the ownership of Gibson International. The distillery ceased production in 1992 & Loch Lomond Distillers took over in 1994. The distillery remains closed, but supplies for bottling will be available for some years to come. Nose: The nose is a little acidic, with the smell of unripened grain & some sweetness as well. A tinge of herbs & citrus zest. Palate: It is full & very pleasant, almost swelling to fill your mouth. There is sweet, toasted grain with a little bit of caramel & even some nuttiness for depth. Finish: It is long, sweet & herbal, with a great blend of flavors. Although the finish is smooth, there is a lot of peppery heat. It ends with a bang & it's AWESOME! ...

The second release of 21 year old single malt from Littlemill, a Lowland distillery with a long history. It was founded in 1772, but it was sadly closed in the early 1990s & demolished in the 2000s. A lovely presentation of whisky from the departed distillery, this time bottled at 47% ABV (the previous 21 year old from the distillery was bottled at 46%). 4, 600 bottles were produced
- sadly not too much left from Littlemill. Nose: honeyed & silky with lots of cream; fresh fruits ranging from apples & pears to honeydew melon & more exotic tropical fruits; vanilla & chocolate sauce drizzled over berry fruits; floral with soft oak & crushed mint leaf. Palate: Fresh cream, more vanilla-white chocolate & floral top notes; crushed mint leaves & toasty oak with malt & emerging fruits: Finish: Long coating & creamy this is a very fine & delicate older-American oak matured whisky.

Loch Dhu is the Whisky equivalent of Marmite! Very controversial dram, & one that we love! Distilled at Mannochmore & bottled in the year 2000, the whisky gets its blacker than black colour from the use of double-charred casks
- whilst the name Loch Dhu translates to Black Lake from Gaelic. Def. one to try!! Nose: Burnt treacle, flat cola, soy sauce, over ripe banana, liquorice. Palate: More flat cola, burnt sugar, soy sauce & aniseed. Finish: Syrupy & sweet with coffee grinds, cola & treacle toffee.
